Grand Banks Weather Policy

OVERVIEW

Grand Banks is an outdoor venue subject to the elements. While closure due to severe weather is rare, it may happen on occasion. When light rain/passing showers are on the forecast for the day, we make all reasonable attempts to remain open. Dangerous weather, however,  including thunderstorms, lightning, downpours, and high winds may cause Grand Banks to close.

Below please find our specific policies regarding weather and closures as they apply to various scenarios. In all instances, understand that our ultimate goals are to provide a safe, consistent, and pleasurable experience for our guests. If you have any questions, please contact us and we would be happy to discuss further.

WALK ON GUESTS

In the event of an active or pending closure due to weather, a banner notification will posted at grandbanks.org announcing that the restaurant is or will be closed. Guests present at Grand Banks will be notified by our hosts if there is potential for closure for either brief or sustained periods of time due to pending inclement weather.

GUESTS WITH RESERVATIONS

In the event of an active or pending closure due to weather, all parties with reservations will be contacted and informed as such with as much notice as reasonably possible given the conditions. Guests will be given the option to reschedule to mutually agreeable time and date should they please. Reservations secured with credit cards will not be charged for days on which we must close due to weather.

PRIVATE EVENTS

In the event of an active or pending closure due to weather, the private event host will be contacted and informed as such with as much notice as reasonably possible given the conditions, at the latest by the morning of the event in question. Because weather forecasts can be unreliable and unpredictable, we do not commit to weather related closures until the morning of a private event in question. Should Grand Banks need to close during the scheduled time of your event, you retain the option to reschedule to a mutually agreeable date and time in the current calendar year with no additional fee. If we are unable to find an agreeable date, a full refund will be issued. Please note, cloudy/overcast days do not result in boat closures and are not grounds for cancellation.

BUYOUTS

In the event of an active or pending closure due to weather, the buyout host will be contacted and informed as such with as much notice as reasonably possible given the conditions, at the latest by the morning of the event in question. Because weather forecasts can be unreliable and unpredictable, we do not commit to weather related closures until the morning of a buyout in question. In the case of a cancellation by Grand Banks due to severe weather conditions, the event will be rescheduled to a mutually agreeable date prior to October 31 of the current year at no additional charge. Should there be passing showers/light rain, we offer parties the option to postpone event start times, given availability. If rescheduling is not possible within this calendar year, a refund, minus a 7.5% administration fee will be provided.
